The Customer… West Properties, a design-led company specialising in land acquisition, planning and construction.
The Challenge… To design and project manage an interactive Marketing Suite for West Properties’ Origin development. The brief was to emphasise a young and cool lifestyle targeting the young city slickers in Manchester. The essence of the project was to capture the message ‘Work, Live, Relax’ and bring alive in a three dimensional representation.
The Result… Ignition delivered a vibrant, colourful and humorous marketing suite design firmly aimed at the young and hip design-conscious buyer targeted by West Properties. The marketing suite was constructed in a typical Manchester industrial building where Ignition intelligently juxtaposed old features of the space with a new vibrant feel to provide a cool contemporary energy.
The interior included a lifestyle wall – a key feature in the design, consisting of acrylic modular units with integrated lighting, propped with carefully selected items such as hanging headphones playing audio clips, screens with rotating images and columns encased in glass – a modern, urban, quirky design capturing an aspirational lifestyle. Ignition collaborated with Manchester based events and communications agency Ear To The Ground to deliver this commission.
NXP is a global semi-conductor company with operations in 25 countries worldwide. It was formally a division of Philips Semi-Conductors and was successfully re-named and re-branded in 2006.
The Challenge… NXP asked Ignition to design and build a bespoke commercial interior at their head quarters in England, they required a design focused on an education and meeting facility to underline and consolidate their new identity, to present their products and ethos to staff and visitors. An important element in the design was to provide an area for staff to socialise within the company creating a positive workplace.
The Result… Ignition turned an overlooked, disused area into a bright, engaging space that is both informative and welcoming to the NXP brand. Curved feature walls reflect the NXP ‘wave’ from the new identity. The wave cleverly guides the eye around the subtly lit product displays, colourful graphics and audio visual zones within the space. The new facility is a beautifully functional bespoke commercial interior balancing the need to educate and inform while providing a welcoming social retreat.
